Question re: when you're up, skadet, 11. Nov 2003 12:14 | ||

| A friend and I played at a B&M in Sacramento last night, Capitol Casino. I discovered that the opponents there were definatly of lesser caliber than online. I'm playing 3-6 with a 3-1-3 structure (don't you HATE posting on the button?!!) . In about an hour I won 2 large pots and was $100+ up (I bought in with $60). My friend busted out, so I kinda wanted to take off. I won a small pot when a guy folded to my raise -- I had trip aces, too -- but other than that nothing for twice around the button. The question: When do you worry about your stack and leave? I was up 2x+ my buy-in, but I saw the chips fade away as the 3-1-3 ate up my stacks slowly but surely. Granted, when you win a pot it usually is large (my K-hi flush won a $100+ pot); but even if you play super-tight (as I was doing), you're out 7 bucks each time around the button!!! Comments, please :) | ||

| Since you "kind of wanted to take off" you probably should have just gotten up and left. You might win bigger pots because of the blinds structure but you have to sit there long enough to get the winning hand. If you're under some kind of time crunch, you'll probably just leak money if you continue to sit because it could be quite a few trips around the table before you get another win big enough to cover those blinds.
