I played 7-card stud for the first time yesterday at Poker Stars and really liked it. I actually won about $20 in a $.50/$1 game.

What's a good book to start with?

Get 7 Card Stud, 42 lessons by Roy West and Seven Card Stud for Advanced Players (which can be read by beginners) by David Sklansky.
Keep rereading until you can quote both books chapter and verse.
Then use the ideas, but learn to adjust them to deal with a loose low limit game.
If you can play at a shorthanded table (5 max), you'll find the ideas in the books much more relevant. A full table of typical low limit players is one of the hardest and often most frustrating to play.
I think you got very lucky in your first game, so put the $20 towards buying the above 2 books.gl.

Thank you.

I did get some sweet hands! A couple of 6th ST flushes were the big pots I won. If my first 3 cards weren't suited, big connectors or a pair I folded. I noticed that I won alot of small pots by raising early with high pairs, more so than HE. I found I could bluff easier than LL HE.
