Best Rush Ever?, mkpoker, 9. Nov 2003 08:01 | ||

| A rather miraculous run of cards at Party this a.m. prompts me to ask, "What's the best rush of cards you've ever experienced?" In the midst of a fairly ho-hum 3/6 session, I was dealt KK and took a good pot. Nice. Next hand: KK. Nice Pot. Next hand KK (lost when an A hit on the river, but I think you'd all start throwing virtual tomatoes if I described that as a "bad beat"). Next hand AQs, flopped a queen for top-pair, top-kicker. Wish I could say that my great play contributed to this streak, but let's face it, a trained monkey could play KK, KK, KK, AQs in succession profitably. It was, by far, the best short-term rush of cards I've ever had. (As a side note, had I held JJ all those hands, the subject line on this post might have read: "Party Poker is a Scam!"), lol So I'm curious, what's your best rush ever? Can anyone beat KK three times in a row? | ||

| Duing a Limit Multi-tourney on UB. Was short stacked and ended up all in with AA and two callers. Won that pot. Next hand, I had QQ. Lots of callers, was all in again. Showdown was heads up with a guy who had KK but the river put a fourth heart on the board and I won the hand with a Q high flush. Next hand I had KK and took down another huge pot (no one could believe I had three premium hands in a row.) Brought me right back into the tourney and I ended up winning. Easily the best rush I've ever had. beigs | ||

| This morning on UB in a SnG, in the first 17 hands I had QQ, 2 KK's, 2 AKs's, AA, and 2 AQs's...won every one but the QQ when an A hit the board...needless to say, I finished in the money... | ||

| Party Poker sit n go with 4 people left. Blinds were high and I was almost out. I got AQ 5 times in a row and started the betting each time with 1/2 of my total chips. The first 4 times everyone folded and I took the blinds putting me back in the tournament. The 5th time someone raised me all in. They thought I was just trying to steal the blinds again... They had a JTo and won with a T on the river So sort of a good run of cards and a bad beat... | ||

| I think the most profitable rush I ever had was at my B&M, very early in my days playing poker. I had two hands in a row where I'm dealt 33, and I flopped a set on both, and rivered a boat on both. In each case, that river also completed someone else's flush. The very next two hands, I turned straight-flushes on both, one to the 8, and one to the K. The nut-flush was out on both of those as well. Four hands running, and I quadrupled my stack in that four hand period. -Moz "One November spawned a monster in the shape of this child..." | ||

| A couple of weeks ago on UB at a 1-2 table I hit a Royal flush with JT suited from the SB, next hand I had AA that was capped both pre and post flop before it ever hit me, (and I had hit a set on the flop), and then KK the very next hand (I got great action on the first two, made huge pots, I think everyone folded when I raised). Was a huge swing in cash that day :) went from down a bit to up a whole lot. Worst part was, I missed the jackpot by about 30 seconds. And if I hadn't of raised the turn and river, I would have hit it (for 200$) Each time I raised the guy, he would think a bit, then call. The guy who got it before me must have been on a smaller table, he got something like 15 of the 200 pot :( | ||

| Yesterday I had a pretty good rush. In the first 15 minutes of NL 100, I had pocket rockets 3 times, pocket kings once, queens once, AK once, and QUAD NINES once, a WOULDBE QUAD FOURS onces (folded on flop, turn 4, river 4) The best part was when the aces and kings and quad nines were all back to back to back. I hold pocket 9's and am on the BB. A MP raiser makes it $7 to go with QQ. He has been pretty aggressive with some crap before so I give it a go and call. Flop comes 9 7 2 rainbow. I decide to slow play because of his aggressiveness. I check, he bets 10, I call. Turn comes a 9. I have 4 9's. I check, he bets $15. I call. RIVER COMES A QUEEN YES!!!!! I bet 20, he makes it 40, I make it 100, he goes all in. I call. I had $170 before the hand, he had $250. It was a pretty nice hand for me and a hard loss for Queens full over nines. | ||
