| I have been looking at some hands that I won and lost money on and I am going to post a few of them here for opinions and then post the outcome later (I may or may not have won this hand) I am just going by my hand histories and some of these may be old so I don't really have any information on table texture so just assume you just got there and don't have a read on anyone yet. $0.50/1 table only 6 people at the table You get 8c8d in early position and call. Late position calls, SB calls, BB checks, everyone else folds. Flop is 3d, 2h, Tc.. blinds check to you. Only 1 person behind you. Do you bet? I didn't, I checked but it may have been a mistake. Button Checks and turn is a 6h... Checked to me again... I check again but I probably should have bet here too since everyone checked last round. I just gave a free card to 3 people and now there is a potential straight out there. River comes up a 5d... I've just given someone with just a 4 a straight if they have it. Big Blind bets, SB folds... I call (hoping he is just trying to make everyone fold) and button folds.... probably my 3rd mistake in the hand. I gave the big blind a completely free board, I should expect him to show me the 4 at this point. BB turns over a 76... he made low pair but I still won. Everyone agree that I played this about as bad as anyone possibly could? | ||

| Yup, I agree. You know what you did wrong though so that's good. | ||

| Yes, I agree and would say you got very lucky. Personally I wouldve raised or folded before the flop. And I definatley wouldve bet the flop. You probably wouldve won it right there. If you had a caller and no raise, I wouldve bet again on the turn. Once the cards are out and the blind bets, I wouldve folded...but I wouldnt have been in that position. I would like to hear another opinion on playing 88 UTG though. | ||

| On a 10 person table I wouldn't have played 88 UTG but I figured that with only 6 people, I could get away with this. Any other opinions out there on this? | ||

| Ok, I didnt notice that it was only 6 people, but I would say that that makes it even better to raise. | ||

| I agree fully. 88 plays great heads up and with that flop particularly well. Without the pre-flop raise, the 88 still looks bettable to me in the 3-way despite the T as "scare card" and being out of position. I'm not entirely sure about iceman's turn bet if you bet and get a caller on the flop (although the T, at least with good kicker, would likely raise back at you, one would think), but it's probably right to go ahead and push it one more time. | ||

| Way too passive... with only 6 at the table, your 88 is strong and you should probably come in for a raise. On the flop, your hand has a good chance of being good and you don't want to give free cards. You need to bet your medium pairs in spots like this, same on the turn when it was checked around Lee | ||
