Hand #1occurred in a WPT qualifier. The entry was 100 FPP's. Top 2 get an entry into the semifinal quailifier. There was 150 players. Its down to 15 and Im in 7th. I have 12,000 which is about average. The tourney chip leader has 25,000 and is on my left. I have been at this table for 4 hands and the chip leader has limped in every hand and then made a big bet against smaller stacks forcing them to fold. I am UTG +1 with pocket 10's. The blinds are $200/$400. I raise to $3000 ( maybe a bit too much?). The chip leader calls and everyone else folds. Im not quite sure what he would call a raise that large with. The pot is $6600. Flop comes 789 rainbow. I have an overpair and an open ended str8 draw. I have $9000 left. I decide to go all in to force him to fold. If he has a higher pair, I still have outs to my str8. He calls and turns over 5 6 offsuit. Now how he got this far in this tourney is beyond me but obviously the poker gods are with him. I still have outs to a higher str8 but miss and Im out. Any problem with my play?

Hand #2..Im in a SNG. There are 4 players left (top 3 pay). I have $3000. Leader has $7000. A guy not involved has $2500. Last guy is in the BB and has only $500 after posting. Blinds are $75/$150. Im in the SB with QQ. The leader is on my right and limps. I raise to $450 wanting the BB to fold or go all in. The BB short stack folds but the leader reraises to $1200. Now I have a decision. I could fold and coast into the money. But I think the chip leader only raised to that amount knowing that I wouldnt want to take a chance of busting out in 4th. I am confident that I have the best hand but it could still be a coin flip if he has AK. I go all in putting the decision on him. He calls and flips over pocket 7's. I win the hand making me the chip leader and I went on to win the SNG. This play was high risk high reward but was it too high risk considering the stack sizes and their only being 4 people left?
