| what is the typical forced bet amount when you have structured betting in stud, such as $5/10? Is it 1/2 of the small bet, or $2 for 5/10 and $5 for 10/20? What is the typical time charge at 10/20- 1/2 a small bet? Also, to clarify- when a pair shows on fourth street, ANYONE can raise by the big bet amount? Or is it only the pair that can increase it, then others can matching the higher amount in raises? For example, if I show 3's and I only open or call for $10, can someone else raise it $20 to $30? Thanks, LL | ||

| in the .25-.50 game on stars its 10 cents bring in with first raise *or bring in* making it .25 then each raise thereafter being .25 (the bring in is closest to half *usually less than not more than* without changing chip denomination, so would be $2 in a 5-10 game but would be 5 in a 10-20) as far as i know anyone may bet or raise either amount if doorcard is paired weird example might be paired doorcard bets .25 next player raises .25 next player raises .5 Rule #1 of Poker Circumstances alter cases Rule #2 NEVER forget rule #1 | ||

To get it going . to keep it going . to drag as much money in time charges as possible? do you have a large number of players in your pool? are they all good or are they all bad ? is there a mix? how is the mix tilted? > what is the typical forced bet amount when you have structured betting in stud, > such as $5/10? Is it 1/2 of the small bet, or $2 for 5/10 and $5 for 10/20? the anties can be as small as $.25 on $5 or 5%. most are a bit bigger from 10% to 33% the small bet. the problem you run into with 33% or greater is that the game really turns into a crap shoot and the bad players go broke and are not around long enough to really pay you off in time charges. For a game with a time charge I would make the structure fairly tight but not so tight as to drive players away for lack of action. say $.50 ante and $2.00 bring for a 5 10 game. thats a standard structure the type of structures used on line are really fast and are set up that way to drag a lot on money with a seemingly small rake. since you are charging time it really doesnt matter how fast or how slow your structure is other than to please your players. Of couse if the players are really wild a tight structure wont slow them down as much but it will keep the good players from raping the bad ones on the anties and bring ins. > > What is the typical time charge at 10/20- 1/2 a small bet? well in LV that limit is raked . if you want to use this 1/2 small bet as a guide fine but let them sit for an hour for it. Of course if you are providing goodies like booze steak dinners and hoockers you might need to hit them more often. 80-100 an hour is roughly 85% what the casinos take for this limit > > Also, to clarify- when a pair shows on fourth street, ANYONE can raise by the > big bet amount? But once there is a double bet or raise from that point on the raises are the double amount. say I hit a hand that needs protection against multiple draws who wont bet them. say small trips with a dead kicker I might check (or put in a small bet) and let the guy on my right ( who has been representing A's) put in the initial big bet or raise then I (re) raise an additional big bet now I have cratered the pot odd for those people on draws (more so in the first case where I just checked) > > Thanks, > LL | ||
