| Hey all, Im new to the board and love the info. Ive been playing Holdem for about a year now. Im 4 or 5 books into the game, and play online in a lot of low limit games. Im playing in a 8 person home Limit Hold Em tourney this weekend. About 5 of the 8 are dead money. They just stay in on too many hands to chase. 2 others including myself I consider knowledgeable about the game to somewhere between advanced begginner, and intermediate. There is one strong person in the group. Was just wondering if you had any advice for me in this tournament. Thanks again for all the great info in the forum | ||

| Well, assuming you're in it to make into the money (i know at my home tourneys half the players just play for fun), then you should definetly tighen up. Play less hands pre-flop, and if you think you've got a good hand you should be raising. The 5 players who are loose may call it with rag hands like 10h7h, or something equally as strange, but if you're betting post flop they should give you some respect. The good guy should respect your bets, and depending on how conservative he is, you can prolly bluff him off a middle pair or a st8/flush draw. You're gonna have to use your best judgement on hands where you're going heads up. As Phil Hellmuth says, "Tight is right." | ||

| if 5 of the 8 are "dead money" and you are playing "tight" dont be surprised if your knocked out early by one of the loose players. My advise to you would be to make it very very expensive for the players to see the flop.... | ||
