USA Today teaches holdem - calling it the 'new' craze in poker.
So much for my 50 year old Life Mag feature of Texas holdem....

Funny thing is, they've got an error right off the bat:

Burn a card before dealing hole cards? WHAT? Is this actually done somehwere?

They also use an ante structure instead of blinds which makes it a completely different game.

Just because all the other media outlets are doing stuff on Texas Holdem doesn't mean USA has to, but if they do they could at least do some research and write something interesting...

USA Today has always seemed pretty weak. I used to read it a lot to get bite-sized chunks of news, sports, and entertainment info, but if you want to go any deeper than the surface of any subjects they cover, USA Today is not worth the 50 cents.

Very weak! I was actually trying to figure out the same thing Urban Chaos I too saw a card get burned before dealing, but I thought it was just my eyes or a glitche, Guess not. Also I like the way they gave every person a decent hand lol and no one decided to fold. Weak!!

INDEED

I love it...they teach the game with incorrect information and then show the winner with a runner runner flush....23:1 long shot odds....Do you think we can use this program to teach the new fish how to play at my local room?
