Turbo Texas Hold 'em question, gusnkc, 3. Nov 2003 20:33 | ||

| I am thinking of purchasing Wilson's Turbo Texas Hold 'em. I see that there are two types. One is the standard hold 'em; however, this software gives advice and strategy lessons. The other piece of software that Wilson sells is Tournament Texas Hold 'em. Does anybody have any recommendations as to which is better. I know one focuses on tournament play and the other focuses on ring games, but in your opinion is one piece of software superior to the other. Thanks. | ||

| I've got both programs. The standard version is much better for improving your general hold 'em play. I'd recommend you buy the standard now and maybe get the tournament version later. That's what I did. | ||

| I went through the same problem a while back and ended up purchasing the Turbo instead of the Tourney version. I figured that I play more limit games than NL and was interested in the advisor and analysis aspects of the Turbo. Now that I'm playing more NL I'm planning on getting the Tourney. | ||

| You will most probably start by playing limit Hold'em, so that is the obvious choice. Highly recommend purchasing the Sour Dough Sam ($20) add-on. Only trust SDS's advice, as he lies least. Earlier versions were more helpful in teaching you how to play. V5 is more of a 'gotcha' situation. Challenge Mike repeatedly and listen to SDS's advice. Set Lineup to AVERAGE.LUP and when you can beat the crap out of Mike you will do the same in live low-limit games. Warning: Beating Mike is not that easy. | ||
