| This happend during the 4th hour. I was the chip leader at the table and limped in with 10 10. Flop came 2 4 6 (rainbow) I bet the pot approximately 1500, SB called everyone else folded. Turn brought 9. SB checked I bet 2000. He reraised me to 4500. At this time he had 5000 left. If I raised him allin and loose I will still have 10 000 (intital amount) left. What do I do?? I did fold, but lately I have thought through the hand and Im not sure if it was the right move. I almost tend to belive he had something around a9 | ||

| How many other people were in the pot? What did they do on the flop? What is your position? What is your read on your opponent? Lee | ||

| My initial response was to go allin, since he seemed weak, but then I start question my read since "weak means strong" ..... | ||

| First, I wouldn't have limped with TT, I'd raise. That will keep some hands out that could beat you and it might also make him fold to your bet on the flop if he had something like A9. He could have thought you were just making a stab at it when in fact you had a strong hand. That being said, I'd put him all in. If he's got something better than A9, god bless him, but I doubt he did. He probably wouldn't have checked 99 on the flop and if he made a set on the flop he probably would have popped you back then. | I don't like the limp at all. Open raise, for about pot size, then if he checks to you, bet just about ANY flop. Normally in NL you don't want to get too heavily involved pre-flop with the medium pairs, but when a bunch of players fold to you, TT is a MUCH stronger holding. Why give the blinds a free/cheap chance to outflop and beat you, when you likely are far ahead? Position, and having a large stack, are both weapons, use them. | ||

| Maybe I was abit unclear. Blinds were 200 400. 2 guys called before me hence the limping. SB and BB called/checked. Flop check to me I bet pot SB called everyone else folded. Turn SB check I raised 2500 he went on top of me... | ||

| Doesn't matter, I'd still raise pre-flop. You want those limpers to think long and hard about calling a raise with their QJ or AJ or whatever other garbage they're trying to limp in with. And even if you only get one hand to fold, that could have been the hand that catches you on the river. Eli on 5. Nov 2003 20:03 Gunnar wrote: > Maybe I was abit unclear. | since you limped you cannot put him on any hand and 2 pair here looks like the least he could have, and he's certainly representing it. If you've been pushing people around its a chance he's making a move on you, but if you've been a rock he would be less likely to. In any case you have no idea what he has, so I would have mucked it. Limping in with 10's against a small blind is bad news. In a case with four undercards he could easily have them, if overcards come you can probably buy a small pot against him unless you're beat. If undercards come you can't put him on a hand yet its hard to get away from. Your best bet is flopping a set in which you likely might not get any action when you do. Raising preflop here is the play, but the fold is good. | ||

| I had been playing supertight, and I do agree that the limping was wrong. It sure put me in difficult position. Thanks for the input... | ||
