Rookie,

I took $50 to the $2/$4 table at the Taj Mahal, and found that it ended up being more than enough. In hindsight, I probably should've taken an extra $50 just in case. Still, if you're tight with your chips, you can build a good stack there, because when I was there (on a weekday afternoon), it was pretty loose at the table...people sticking around with low and middle pair.

SEE YOU AT THE TAJ or TROPICANA.

i did that the 1st time i went out to play in a casino....now i go with at least a 100 sometimes 120 for alittle insurance. Along with a little back up money just in cas.

1..if you have plunty of chips you play smarter and not scared.
2 .. players who are watching and moving in and out of seats ( new players),,may think you are the money man because of the size stack. Somtimes..hahah
3. you feel better. .......hah..............dot go under 60 to 80 bucks in a 2-4

depends on the limit you plan to play, easy braindead way to think about it.

25-30 BB's *big bets* that you must be willing to gamble with *aka lose if cards go bad*

in a basic bet and 3 raises type table your talking 12 BB's that could be placed in the middle on any one hand and you dont want to play with less money than that simply cause if the cards hit you you want to make as much money as others will give you.

also have a 1/2+ buyin in reserve so that you dont play different when your initial buyin gets low

if i were playing a 2-4 table i would buy in for 100 and have a reserve of 50, if my buyin dropped below 60 i would reevaluate the table *why am i losing* do i still think i have the better of it and if yes buy in for 50 more, once my original buyin got down to about 20 i would reevaluate again and ask is the table still good, if yes stay and play my last 20 the same way i had played the previous 80 and if not leave *money saved spends as well as money won*

If you are going to play Friday or Saturday night, your bankroll should be around $200 because there seem to be a larger amount of chasers and the swings can be huge for a 2-4 game. I have seen 55 and 6 people in capped pots! The games are usually very loose and fun to be in. The good news is that you should be able to make decent money here if you can handle the swings and play tighter than the rest.
