| Hi everyone. Let me see if I have this right. Odds for completing a gutshot straight draw on the flop? There are 4 cards that can complete your straight. 47 unseen cards on the flop, so 43 cards don't help your hand. On the turn, 46 unseen cards. Therefore, (43/47) x (42/46) is 83.53% not making it. And 16.47% chance hitting. So odds are 5:1 which seems low to me because I always thought the odds for a gutshot were approx. 11:1??? How about this one? Odds of hitting a set after the flop when you hold a pocket pair. Only 2 cards to hit. (45/47) x (44/46) is 91.58% chance of not hitting. Only 8.42% chance of making it. Therefore, 11:1 are the odds of hitting your set after the flop with 2 cards to come. Any thoughts?? | ||

| The odds of hitting the gutshot on any individual card is 11 to 1. When you have 2 chances to hit, it is indeed 5 to 1. And your set math is correct. Lee | ||
