| This isn't a bad beat story, it's more of an amusing tale. I was attempting to show my mother the basics of Texas hold'em this morning and on the second hand dealt to her she said, "Oooh, I have a seven and a two, how much should I bet?" After an explanation of how it's the worst starting hand, she reluctantly folded them -- only to have 7, 7, 2 show on the flop! So of course - I know nothing in her eyes. So when I was dealt a 2, 7 while online at Party, I called her over, and told her I'd play them to prove my point. The Flop? 2, 2, 7 I still don't know anything about cards in her eyes, but a $28 winning pot at a .50-$1 table is a personal best for me. Hey, that's poker. | ||

| thats so awesome youre teaching mom holdem. my grannie used to gamble, so my mom thinks poker is evil gambling! i dont bother trying to argue with mom : ) | ||

| I think teaching her holdem will be easier than teaching her how to use a computer in order to play online. But I have my fingers crossed. | ||

| Great story. In a recent micro limit holdem ring game, a player won a nice pot with 72o after hitting a boat. He responded he was beginning to think 72 was a jinx, he never seemed to be able to win with it. Glad he found out different. Ron | ||
