| I've never played poker in a B&M, and only started playing online 3 months ago. Prior to that I have played quite a few thousand hrs of home games over the last 12 years, although exclusively 5 card draw, so my hold-em experience was very limited going into the online scene. I've never played limit hold-em (2-3 hrs is my definition of never in this context). Exclusively NL hold-em and to a lesser extent PL hold-em. Now to the question; Am I missing something important by not playing limit holdem? I've got a decent grasp on most books by Sklansky, Malmuth, Reuben Ciaffone, Cooke, TJ, Evoy etc, and I've made 5k+ in the 3 months that I have been playing online, so I dare say I know the basics, but still wonder if I could gain more by putting some hrs into limit and not all in NL. (By gaining more, I don't mean $/hr, as I'm happy in that department, but gaining more in terms of understanding of the game which in turn will increase my hourly rate in the NL games, which is definitely my game of preference) | ||

| Hi Doc :-) Limit and No-Limit are different animals.....Limit lends itself more to discipline and patience, No-Limit lends itself more to creative play. It is good to learn all games, but if you are having fun at No-Limit and have limited time in which to learn new games...Stick to the game you like best! Life is Good :-) Roy Cooke on 31.
