Blade-

I am not saying that you are ahead at this point. What I am saying is that the likelihood of a set from this player is small. If we can agree that he doesn't have JJ, the other two cards avaialble (5 and 6) are not at all likely to be set cards from a solid passive player in EP (which is what he was described as). Now, I am not saying that it is impossible, but just unlikely. Therefore, I consider all five outs in this case to be clean (which based on the outcome, they were).

Anyway, bottom line it is one of those very close calls between continuing and folding. However, I tend to air on the side of continuing here because the pot has gotten so big and I would hate to make the mistake of folding a potential winner because I fear the opponent has 1 of only 3 hands that I can't beat at the river. The odds are there so I say you need to keep going.

Steve

In that case you almost have to read him as being either A)on the semi bluff with the flush draw but with what would be the question if we dont think the player would play pockets 5's or 6's from EP then we can probably rule out suited 56 as well as A low kicker suited. Perhaps then either AJ as well, perhaps KJ suited, or less likely QJ or J10 suited, all of which would raise against and hope the flush doesnt hit. or B) perhaps you start to suspect over pair like QQ.

BTW In the games I play in a solid passive player would play pairs from any position so that's where I would start. This only highlights why having even a little knowledge about your opponent is critical when playing from EP.
