| help my 17' monitor is starting to flicker. So a friend let me have his 12' color monitr dated 1992. My model was 1997 and is set at 1024/24bit color. now i disconnected mine and plugged his in and all i get is fuzz, with some identifiable icons but mostly fuzzy screen. Is this a compatibility problem or a setting that i have to change? tks | ||

| Change your settings down to bare basics to start with, 640x480 60hz or lower, 4 color. Then try 800x600. if that works, up the colors to 16, then 256 color (8bit) and then try 16bit. I would be VERY surprised if it supported that. I wouldn't even dream of a screen resolution greater than 800x600 on a 12" screen. Once you have a screen size/color bit combo that works, go for the highest refresh rate it will support. you WANT 72hz if possible to eliminate all flicker. Monitors that old will probably not support anything but the most basic of display modes. Jim | ||

| the monitor was to old. i went to computer store today and bought one for 70bucks, back in action | ||
