| Down to approx 80 players at Foxwood NL holdem tourney yesterday. I have about 9k in chips out of 726k in play. I just get seated at new table and get Ah Ks under the gun. Blinds are 200/ 400 with 75 ante. I raise to 1000 and middle player calls everyone else folds. Flop comes Ad 6c 3c. I bet 1200 and the other player goes all in( he has at least twice my chip count). I don't put him on AA because he didnt reraise me preflop. I should have maybe put him at least on AKc because he would have a lock on at least half the pot and the nut flush draw. I quickly called and he flopped AA. I should have taken more time and probably thrown the hand. I'd be interested to hear how others would have played it. | ||

| You were up the creek on this one any way you cut it. I would have raised more pre-flop- with AKo you don't really want to see a flop- but that doesn't change anything about the outcome of the hand, would only change things if they guy didn't have AA. His smooth call was fine, he probably read your smallish UTG bet as a weak/medium ace and knew you'd be completely dominated. His all in on the flop was likely for 3 reasons: - he knew he had you beat, but this is likely the least of the reasons - there were 2 clubs and he didn't want to take the chance of you drawing to them - he read you for either a medium ace or an underpair (JJ, QQ, KK) and figured you would lay it down, given that you hadn't committed yourself to the hand But I still don't think your call is bad. In two of those scenarios above, you could likely have him beat (of course you didn't, we know that now). People don't usually go all in on the flop unless they're scared of something. Eli on 28.
