| I keep hearing what i think sounds like an urban legend about bill gates being taken at Belagio for millions through a scam involving info being fed from a security camara to some big pros he's in a game with. For starters I've heard gates is way too cheap to play those stakes (heard he plays 4-8 mostly) and seems far fetched that this would get out even if it did happen. Can anyone shed some light on this rumor? | ||

| I dont know for sure but you can bet that if a Casino was able to have Gates as one of its "whales" he would be the last person to get taken in a scam. | ||

| I can shed a little light on the subject: Bill Gates was indeed playing at the Bellagio last year but he was playing in the very low limits. I would say that this was just a rumor and nothing more. 4P- | ||

| Has anyone else heard this rumor? I've heard it a couple of times now. One version I heard was Brunson was involved. Obviously Brunson could beat Gates straight up without risking the the bad rap. just another indication that it is a rumor | ||

| Don't believe it. It's well known that Gates enjoys poker, but will only play LL because he only want's to play for entertainment. I also could never believe that Doyle would involve himself in anything shady. Gates is a regular target. Someone sees him at a 4-8 table and decides to make up alcohol-enhanced versions of what they saw because it was Gates. | I started it, but I wasn't trying to spread the rumor or suggest that it is true...I merely was trying to discover the origins and also determine how wide spread it is. In the future I'll limit my posts to bad beat stories and asking if there are any good Holdem games on tuesdays in Wyoming. | ||
