| 5-10 HE very very loose table. Im UTG with QQ and bet out, 2 mid position players call and tight aggressive button 3 bets. I put the 3 bettor on AK and the 2 limpers on high cards as that is what they will call any raises with. Its now up to me and I throw in another 5 spot and just call. Flop comes with a K and 2 low cards, I bet out to represent an AK myself. 1 mid player folds other calls, 3 bettor raises and I fold. He wins the pot on the end with AK. Ok nothing special but take a look back. Am I giving money away by not capping preflop or is it not worth it to 4 bet? Is this just a feel on whether or not to cap in this spot if you will be called all the way around? Or should I most definitely cap here in the above scenario? Also what are your thoughts on leading out at the pot after just calling the reraise? Any thoughts would be great. | ||

| Know your opponents and the answer will be easy for you. A lot of players will not 3 bet unless they have AA, KK, QQ, or AK, barring unusual circumstances. If you cap preflop, you're either way behind or slightly ahead, and you're out of position. I would definately flat call here. When a king hits on the flop, you can either bet out or check/fold, depending on how loose your opponent is with his 3 bet standards. If he follows the above, then a check/fold is probably in order. | Against a gaggle of loose opponents only, I will cap with QQs. When you throw in a tight aggressive player doing the 3-betting, I might just call, especially with crummy position. The danger is that he might have AA or KK in which case you are throwing money down a hole. That being said, capping probably isn't that bad either, the tight aggressive player would probably three bet more hands than just AA KK and AK from the button since he has position and several callers. Since you are likely way ahead of the loose players, there's nothing wrong with charging them as much as possible to draw at you. I don't like you betting the flop with the A there, I think you're wasting money with that many opponents, plus you already said you have the button on AK, you should go with your read of him and check the flop. Let one of the loose players bet it, and watch it get raised by the button player and you have an easy fold and have lost one less bet. It's of course a much different situation when you are in later position and some of your opponents have checked. | ||
