| While I mostly ask about Hold Em on this forum, I've been really getting into Omaha Hi-Lo. I love this game. And I hate this game. I think that must be a sign I'm progressing. Tonight on UB, I got to the final table and placed 3rd! Payout was not much, as it was 125 people with a $10 buy in, but it made up for my NL hold em cash mistakes (both AQ with a QJ flop that killed me) Anyway, I've been meaning to post and see if there are any omaha tournament regulars here. I don't know if I can define my "strategy" for tournaments. I do know this, once we made it into the money, and the next 8 would pay the same, I got aggressive and stole a lot of blinds. That built up my stack quite well. My hand that crippled me and put me on a tiny stack was probably am amateur mistake, I got too excited being at that stage. But I am happy to have made it that far. Just had to crow a bit. | ||

| Hi. Well congrats on your nice finish Andrew! Omaha high-low is definitely a great game, although it can get frustrating at times, too. Believe me, I know the feeling! But you have to have patience and be very disciplined in this game; maybe even more so here because so many hands are going to "look great", but they're really not. Playing strong starters is a must, but not knowing when to release your holding post-flop, (no matter how great it was coming in)....is a major leak in a players Omaha game. You should "love" the flop when it comes up! (just a reminder, that's all). Perhaps you can post up the hand that gave you some trouble in the tourney. It can be good for discussion purposes.
