can I play this different? suggestions, Harry Palmer, 23. Oct 2003 19:16 | ||

| I was wondering if I could get advice on how to play this hand differently as I lost a bunch on this one hand? It was a NL ring game,blinds .25/.50. I caught pocket 3's in the big blind and had 2 limpers including the small blind. The flop came 2,3,4 rainbow. I put out a sizeable bet of $6. I got 2 callers! I put one on the str8 and the other on a pp larger than 5's. The turn was a 4 giving me 3's full so I bet all-in, which was about $25 and got 1 caller who I thought had the str8. He turned over A,4 giving him trips. And the river, you guessed it, an ace. There is some way to play this hand to prevent this. Any help would be nice. Thanks, Harry | ||

| Thanks. I thought maybe I should raise before the flop, but I'm not to comfortable raising with a small pair. I'm sure he wouldn't of folded anyway because this guy was a total fish. Thanks, Harry | ||

| I agree with noiseboy. Tough luck on the hand, but it was a nice spot for you to be in. Mark | ||

| I wouldn't raise pre-flop with 33 in the BB, you were fine with that. And if he was a total fish, he would have called with A4. You played it fine. Eli on 23. | Do you think he would have called you if you made a really big checkraise on the flop? Or if you check called the flop and got busy on the turn representing 666? You asked is there a way to prevent this from happening, I'm just giving you some options.... | ||

| I think he would have called. He called a huge bet (at least for the table limits) with a pair of fours. | ||
