I've been a regular at PartyPoker for quite some time now. Recently, I downloaded the software for a couple of other leading online poker sites (pokerstars and ultimatebet), and though I still feel that PartyPoker is the best online poker room available today, they might take a couple of lessons from these other well-designed sites.

First - there is a complete lack of heads up games - and very few short table games.

Second - the tournament structure at Party Poker is great - but what's the deal with the 15 minute wait after registration closes in the multi-table tournaments. Can anyone provide me with a logical reason for this time?

And one other thing I wish Party Poker would change is the way they play out showdowns. At pokerstars.com - when a player has gone all-in and is called, the cards are turned up. With the way things are currently set up at PartyPoker, there is no drama - and half the time, everyone misses who had what, and what hand won - unless they read about it in the chat box...

I feel that, if made, these are some improvements that would greatly enhance the already stellar experience provided by the folks at PartyPoker.com.

I'm really not sure who to contact about these issues, as I don't exactly have Mike Sexton on speed dial. But if anyone could point me in the right direction - it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks -

gg

Good idea. I suspect someone from PP will read this.

By far the most important thing PP can do is get up to speed with their servers. There are times they only get out 40 hands/hr if that. Yes I know they keep growing. But they've had months now to solve this problem. The crazy thing is how much money PP is losing on rakes because of this. Servers are cheap and can be installed quickly. PP is just being badly mismanaged on this issue and it is costing the owners of PP hundreds of thousands of dollars a day. You can buy a lot of servers for that kind of money.

As far as I'm concerned the rest of the software is pretty ok. I hope they don't change the graphics. I can see the cards better at Party than other sites. They have slowed down the showdown of cards somewhat already. It would be nice if they showed the actual cards played in the hand along with the final hand made in the hand history..

The waiting lists still have a bug in them. It doesn't happen as often as it used to but I still get kicked off waiting lists for no reason sometimes.

I would certainly agree with the showdown suggestion.

I, too, think Party is the best site around, especially for SnGs. I would like to see a lot more MT Tournies though, escpecially at the $10 entry level.

I would also like to see them give you a chance to show cards if you are the last to fold to a hand like UB does. It *does* come in handy for advertising at times.

As for the slow hands, I would venture it is due to people having the "Congratulations" message on, as well as having auto-muck turned off and waiting for the default action to occur.

I do know for a fact that they replaced most if not all of the old servers and can now add on new ones without significant impact on operations. They are not nearly as overloaded as they were 2 months ago. In fact, I see more server overload at UB than Party now.

Great suggestions. I am playing there currently also and agree with your idea about showdown. The first time they didn't flip the cards up I thought I missed something and someone wasn't all in.

I don't know how much it will accomplish but perhaps an email or a talk to a floorperson will help. I have had to talk to a floorperson a few times and have mentioned the showdown issue everytime. They claim they sent the idea somewhere so hopefully once they build up enough requests it will actually happen. I agree though, PP is still the best online site i have found.

I agree with the show down.

The other item I would like to see is for the SnG's to up the starting chips from 800 to 1k. I used to play these all the time at Party but now I only play them at UB. You can't do a lot of early limping or stealing at Party with only 800 chips.

The wait list is still hosed up and trying to get on the SnG tables is a mess.

I do like the site and still play a lot of Limit games there.

i totally agree. Trying to get into a NL $30 SnG or $10 SnG is very annoying. I sat there for about a half hour the other night trying to get in. Finally i got into a $10 SnG and felt like I just won the WSOP. I didnt even care bout playing once I got in. It was pretty funny.

Yes, Getting into a SnG at Party can be a pain, I usually miss about 80% of my tries (and I have Cable Modem... :-)

Suggestion:
Why not set up a Waiting List for SnGs too, like they have for the ring games? It shouldn't be hard to do. Just have people sign up for a SnG (selecting game and level) and when a table is available take the top 10 people from the list.

I think those are great ideas and I am sure they would be interested to know how to get better. I would email them or call up customer service.
