So I don't really care if you respond or not, but I was playing a single table NL HE tourney. I make it to the final two and I have a little above him. I get AA in the big blind. He raises twice the BB. I raise about 4 times hoping to get a call. He goes all in, I call. Flop comes K 3 3 and he gets a full boat with pocket Kings. Oh the humanity. But at least I took second.

I have only seen pocket KK beat AA one other time in my life. And one happened to me.

Only twice? You haven't been playing poker long....

lol

Seriously though, it does suck when it happens to you. Just keep in mind that you made the right play and in the long run it will pay off....

A few days ago I had AA. The flop came up Axx. Turn was a K, River was a K.... then the only opponent left then flips over his pocket KK for the 4 of a kind

so yeah AAA isn't invincible, either is AA

If he had k3 that would be a terrible beat. You just had a bad beat.

Shortcut calculation of odds: There are 2 kings out there out of 50 cards, so he has a 1/25 chance on every card of hitting the king, times 5 cards he wins about 1/5 or 20% of the time. Except for hitting the K, it seems to me all other combos where he wins are statistically irrelevant. So 80% of the time you win the tournament on this. Sound about right?
