| I get on Paradise poker to play some raked hands to release my bonus. I take $25 into a NL HE table and $15 0.25/0/50 HE table. I was going to play tight and see which table was getting raked the most so I bonus would be release faster. A nice hand comes on my limit table and I take a $3 pot. Then I get QQ UTG on the NL table. I decide to play. I raise in hopes to thin the field. I get a MP caller and LP caller. Flop comes: 7c Jh 2h Hoping to make the flush draw not profitable and thinking my QQ is good, I bet $4 into a $3.75 pot. MP calls and LP folds. Turn is 7c Jh 2h 9s I bet $3 think I am still good. River comes: Q giving me a set. I bet out again and get called. The MP played 8 10 off suited. He called my raise from UTG then my pot sized be after the flop hoping for a gut shot str8. To make matters worse, my ISP crashes (again) and the screen freezes to showing the pot in front of Mr. Lucky. Had to look at it for 3 minutes. LESSON LEARNED: Raise $2 instead of $1 preflop. I finally get reconnected and continue to play. I am sure I played the NL hand correctly and just got a bad beat. I have $5.75 left at the NL table. I get into a few more hands playing good hands but missing the flop. I end up with $2.75. I catch some good cards and turn the $2.75 into $12. Over on the limit table, I get some good cards and make the calling stations pay for it. I turn the $18 (started with $15) into $28. Hey wait a minute!!! I started this session with $40. ($25 NL and $15 limit) After that bad beat, I still have $40 but the amounts switched tables! ($12 NL and $28 limit) What are the odds? And things get better, I played enough hands that I got $10 released. Boy if only I didn't get that bad beat. Owell, such is poker. | ||
