Tournament getting tight - I'm below average in stack, less than 50 players, money starts at 30.

I for some reason, call 55, it's not raised.

Flop is A 2 5 clubs. Genius that i am, I go all in. I get called. I don't get a boat, and of course, someone had J4 of clubs in the blind.

I know I screwed myself here, but what was the "right move?"

Bet and see if I'm raised?

I was first to bet, with SB and BB only behind me.

As to the 55 getting in anyway, I had clicked "call BB" - then changed my mind, but the computer had already sent it (I get a lot of lag with my dial up) - then I was happy for the "mistake" with the flop. Yeah, brilliant. I have no idea why I did it. The last two times I went all-in in a tourney, I just knew I'd be out. So why did I do it? OK, you're not shrinks, just tell me about the hand..... ;-)

So, you say raise? I guess i never even considered that with 55, which shows how timid I am.

I guess I need to remember, if it's worth playing, it's worth raising. In Limit, I think it's probably correct to call one bet with low pair and with no trips on flop, drop it - but this was NL, and I treated it like limit.

Thanks E - it was right in front of my face, but I wouldn't see it.

Hi Andrew

You left out important data regarding chip position, betting position and stack size of your opponents....That said, I think you played the hand right...You can't sit there and blind off until you go broke....You need to get some chips to put yourself in a position to win the tourney!
