| Sitting at a $25 NL table last night at Party. I've got about a $70 stack in front of me. Few others at the table are 50+ others are low or have just bought in. I get dealt T's on BB. 7 limp in and I raise blinds to $3. Button and SB fold and we go into the flop 5-handed. Flop comes out 2s 5s 10h. I've got red tens. I am UTG and here is where I may have screwed up. What is the smart play? Bet my trips big and hope to catch some Str or flush chasers or bet small and see what hits on turn and river. I almost always bet trips on flop unless flop is 3 suited, so checking was out of the question. I chose to bet $30. 2 call and we go into turn 3 handed. Turn is Ks....wonderful...some chaser just hit his flush draw. At this point I am hoping that someone was on open ended STr draw or someone called my $30 with JJ QQ or AA. What do I do here? Check or bet? I throw 5 in the pot to see where everyone stands? first guy calls and next raises 5. I might as well throw another 5 in the pot and try and catch another 10 or pair on the board to hit my boat. I call and the 3 of us see river (9s) .....AWESOME....if they didnt have the flush on turn they darn sure have it now and my 10's are worthless. All it takes is a 2 of spaides to beat me so I check....first guy bets 20 second calls and I drop out. Caller shows TJs...he had it on turn and was holding my other 10. better showed his Ak with As and won the monster pot. (well its a monster for the $25 table). I just cant believe he called $30 with his overcards. unblievable....pocket pair always rapes me. How could I have played this better? | ||
