 Any advice, first live NLHE in AC, SCOTT FRANCIS, 22. Oct 2003 11:16 | ||

| November 15th "showdown at the Sands" $200 NLHE w/rebuys. Guaranteed $100k prize pool. What kind of players should I expect to be there? Will the play be at all similar to that which I am used to (30+3, 50+5 SNG's and several multitable $20,$30 and $50 tourneys) online. If not what might I find to be different and how should my strategy/hand selection change. Let me know what you think, any input appreciated. Thank you, SCOTT | ||

Thank you, SCOTT it'll be tougher, no doubt, but my first nl tounies were online as well and i placed 3rd in my first live, so you can certainly do well with your online experience (ala moneymaker, heh) online tournies are awesome to cut your teeth on. the main difference will be the presence of pros. pros dont play in online 20 buck tournies too much, but this tourny there will be a good amount of them. my advice is to take is slow and tight until you get a good feel for your table. try to stay away from going allin (online has alot more allin's going on than bigger live tournies) just keep focused and try not to get to fancy smantsy good luck and give a report! ----------------------------------------------------- "I prefer talking with old persons of the female sex who peddle family gossip; next, with the insane-and last, with very sensible people" -S. | That is kinda what I would expect. The frequency of "all ins" online has to be partly due to the fact that when you lose you just start a new tourney for another 20 bucks. Thanks, and I will definitely give a report. By the way, we (4 of us) have two comp rooms (free food and drinks) at Trump Plaza for Fri Nov. 14 and Sat Nov. 15. If anyone here is going to be there let me know and I'll treat you to a meal and some drinks. Thanks for all the help. Scott P.S.
