Yes they are very easy to spot and beat. Basically complete rocks but a couple do have a programming error that allows you to bluff them out of winning hands.

UB has some bots for you to practice against, but they are in a special area. They do not get in on any real money tables.

THIS ISSUE KIND OF MAKES ME LAUGH. MOST OF THE SITES
KNOW SO LITTLE ABOUT POKER, THAT THEIR "ROBOTS"
WOULD LOSE MORE THAN THEY CAN RAKE.

ADAM THE EXPERT WAS APPROCHED BY A SOFTWARE
DESIGNER, ABOUT WRITING A PROGRAM, TO PLAY POKER
ONLINE.

I DECLINED, NOT WANTING TO SPEND SO MUCH TIME,

WRITING THE STRATEGY. TOLD THE GUY IT WOULD BE

FAR EASIER FOR ME TO FIND SOMEONE WHO COULD WRITE

THE SOFTWARE, THAN IT WOULD BE FOR HIM TO

FIND SOMEONE WITH MY EXPERTISE.

ALSO, THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF A "ROBOT" WOULD ONLY

WORK, IF DONE IN A VERY LIMITED MANNER, AS THIS

WOULD BE LIKE A MACHINE THAT MAKES GOLD. IF EVERYONE

HAD ONE, THEIR WOULLD BE SO MUCH GOLD IN THE

WORLD, THAT IT WOULD BE USELESS.

SAME THING FOR A 'ROBOT' PROGRAM.

IF YOU TOOK THE CONSIDERABLE TIME IT WOULD TAKE,

TO DEVELOP IT, YOU COULD NOT SHARE IT WITH ANYONE.

BECASUE THE MINUTE IT GOT OUT, THAT YOU WERE DOING

THIS, EITHER NO ONE WOULD CONTINUE TO PLAY INTERNET

POKER, OR THE SITES WOULD TAKE MEASURES TO

DETECT, AND THEN BAN, ANY ROBOT PLAYERS.

HERE'S MY ADVICE, IF YOU SUSPECT A ROBOT.

TRY TO ENGAGE THEM IN CONVERSATION, ON NON POKER

SUBJECTS.

IF THEY DON'T ANSWER, IT CERTAINLY DOESN'T MEAN THEY

ARE A ROBOT, BUT IF THEY DO, IF PRETTY MUCH RULES

OUT THAT THEY ARE.

LIKE" WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE SEINFELD EPHISODE.

THE CHANCES OF A PROGRAMMER, PROGRAMMING THE

ROBOT TO RESPOND TO THAT, WOULD BE VERY REMOTE.

MORE LIKELY, THEY WOULD HAVE AN AUTOMATIC RESPONSE,

SUCH AS : I'M SORRY, I'M PLAYING THREE GAMES, CAN'T TALK.

THIS PRESUPOSES THAT THE PROGRAMMER, IS SOPHTISICATED

ENOUGH, TO RECOGNIZE THE NEED TO RESPOND TO

QUESTIONS.

THE REALLY FUNNY THING ABOUT PEOPLE THINKING THAT

ROBOTS EXIST, IS THAT THEY ARE TOTALLY UNNECESSARY.

THE SITES MAKES UP TO A COUPLE MILLION A DAY.

AND PROFESSIONAL PLAYERS, CAN BEAT THE GAMES, VERY

EASILY.

THE ONLY ADVANTAGE, WOULD BE THAT YOU COULD JUST

TURN IT ON, GO TO SLEEP, AND MAKE MONEY.

BUT THE TIME INVOLVED TO WRITE SUCH A PROGRAM,

WOULD BE PROHIBITIVE, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING

THAT ONCE DISCOVERED, THE PROGRAM WOULD BECOME

USELESS.
