| Had been running badly for the longest time. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what I was doing wrong, and the money just kept on flowing...away. Ever heard the phrase "Don't count your money when you're sitting at the table" ? Of course you have. Well, I got sick of watching all my money slip away on bad beats, so I turned off the preference in my software that showed my stack size. Funny thing happened....I stopped focusing on where I was in my session, and fully dedicated my brainpower to one simple thing: making the correct decision for a single hand. I stopped thinking about my aces that got cracked or that some fish had sucked out on me 3 straight times (meaning, it couldn't possibly happen again, and so staying in a hand I shouldn't) Next thing I know, things are looking up. I know most people like to keep tabs on where they are. I was just sharing that in my particular case, playing each hand individually and with no regard for my stack has helped me tremendously. Hope this helps someone somewhere. –Skinner | ||
