Statistics on Final hands at showdown, Chris W, 20. Oct 2003 02:08 | ||

| Hi all, I've been going through my poker tracker results and was curious how my stats compare to others'. I've been going through a slump and I think the reason is that I'm missing more than my share of drawing hands that are essential to win at low limit on line poker. The stats are from the Misc. Stats tab. I play $5/$10 on PartyPoker so this data only includes times where I saw the flop. Total hands played: 23600 Saw flop all hands: 16.74% (3951 times out of 23,600) Three of a kind: 86 or one every 274.4 hands Straight: 62 or one every 380.6 hands Flush: 45 or one every 524.4 hands Full House: 65 or one every 363.1 hands Four of a kind: 3 or one every 7867 hands Straight flush: 0 Royal flush: 1 Obviously each player's results will vary based upon the number of hands they play and the kind of opponents affect the times each hand proceeds to a showdown. Still it should be interesting to compare. Chris | ||

| There has to be something missing here. I can't believe you have never won with a pair or with 2 pair on that many hands. | ||

| Obviously I have. I just didn't feel like including those hands because that data is so strongly dependent on the player's tendencies that any comparison would be even more difficul. not that it matters given that nobody has replied ... | ||

| Hmmmm... my own database is still way too small to be of any interest, so I won't even bother to check data. Interesting on yours is that the full house is highly represented despite the fact that it's less probable than straights or flushes. Obvious reason: The full house usually emerges from a hand that's already fairly strong. Just guessing, on mine I would bet that when I reach your number of hands, I'll have more flushes than straights, simply because I like keeping flush draws more than straight draws (they're also more immediately recognizeable, beat the straight, and the odds on drawing the last card are better). The pros could give way better advice there than I can, but I'd be inclined to say that if you're in a slump, maybe you're playing a shade too tight. But I think the pair and 2 pair statistics are critical for judging all this, since those are kind of the bread and butter of the game. Since I just got poker tracker less than a week ago, I'm not sure how easy it would be to do this, but interesting to me would also be, particularly with pairs and 2 pairs, how many (and how much) you won vs. how many you lost. | ||
