Limit Spreads in Vegas cardrooms, palman, 19. Oct 2003 23:33

What are the limit spreads in the vegas cardrooms, more specifically what is the lowest limit in all the different cardrooms. While I think I can handle the 4/8 type games (and that could be a stretch) at say mandalay, I know for sure that my roommates that I'm planning on going with cannot, and want to know where would be a good place for them to go.

Also on an unrelated note, how does staying at mandalay bay compare to staying at excalibur. For a 7-8 day trip its 200 dollars cheaper at excalibur, however price isn't that huge of an issue. Thus if the experience for four college age guys would be better at mandalay, the 200 would be worth it for us.

The Plaza (downtown) has $1-2 hold'em most nights. That's the lowest hold'em game I know of in Vegas. The Excalibur has many $1-3 (single $1 blind) hold'em games going most every night. This is a geat poker game for you and your friends. You will have a good time. Mandalay Bay (the Hotel & casino) is a cooler place to hang out then the Excalibur but both can be a lot of fun. Good Luck, H.B.

Sweet jesus, stay at Mandalay. Excalibur is a complete sh*thole full of strollers and white trash while Mandalay is one of the nicest joints in town. Thank me later.

As for limits, someone else can help you out, but I do know that Mandalay doesn't spread lower than 4-8.

I'ld stay at Mandalay, and you can play at excal. I know when I was there, we played at Flamingo down the strip a bit at 1-2$ tables.

Gotta ask. Are they looking to earn dollars or are they looking for more bang for their buck? The cheap ass tournaments at Luxor let you play for a LOOOONG time on $25. I know people can lose quite a bit at $1-2 over the course of an hour anyway. At least this way they have a shot at something more than just lunch money...

I think there are cheap daily tourneys all over town, aren't there? Someone chime in here.

Yeah there are. Just have to get to them early. When you get there, ask the floor manager or something, many of the casinos have this magazine thing that will have a listing of all the tourneys going on. I've seen someoen else mention it on here too, but I can't for the life of me remember the name of it.

www.pokerpages.com has a fairly good list of most daily/weekly tournaments in B&Ms, and has a good list of most of their limit games also.

Mandalay is my favorite place in Vegas...they have 4-8 and up, Mirage spreads 3-6..the nicest place you'll find at that limit
