| On occasion I will be playing poker and see a hand or be involved in a pot where the hand is unique and I likely will never forget about it. This happened to me 2 years ago in a game in Canada when I was taking a break from traveling and playing online and wanted some live action. The game was $50-$100 holdem and it was being played very loosely. A young lady limped in the pot under the gun. She was on tilt and playing a lot more pots than her normal loose play before the flop. Another weak played limped in the pot and I was on the button with KQ of hearts. I decided to raise the hand and both blinds folded. The limpers called and the flop came 2-4-9 all diamonds. I wasn't much interested in the flop and was about done with the hand when tilto girl bet $50. The other player folded and the action was on me..... I was about to fold when the girl looked at me and showed me the king of diamonds!!! Then she said in a sincere manner "I don't want your money....I like you." Well.....not only did I not believe her sincerity....I also believed I was in the lead in this hand and she was in trouble!!!! I had seen this girl raise AK several times in the session from different positions. I had also seen her limp with KJ and K10 offsuit a lot. Since the board was 3 small suited cards and she had the king of diamonds I was sure the other card she held was either an offsuit 10 or jack (small possibility of a queen)....I ruled out K9 for her holding even though she was on tilt since she hadn't completely lost her mind enough to limp in with K9 offsuit under the gun. I called her bet with the intention of raising the turn if it came safe. The turn was the 4 of spades and she lead into me and I raised her....she called quickly. I raised her simply because I was a favorite at this point...I knew what cards I didn't want to see on the river and so I would check if one came but I WASN'T sure if she would bet as a bluff on the river if I only called on the turn. She was on tilt but I still didn't want to take a chance of losing the bet. The river brought the jack of spades and she bet into me. I obviously hated the card and stopped to think. Why wasn't she worried about my raise on the turn if she held only a jack? That is a pretty brave lead given how the hand has played. Looking at her she had that look of anxiety but it didn't look like a complete bluff to me. I felt like she hit her jack and looked at the board and was happy with having top pair and bet it. She didn't have a clue how to read hands and just sort of played her own. I considered raising her as a bluff but quickly dismissed this thought since she was on complete tilt and I was sure she had a jack and would pay it off. I folded. The next day I saw her and asked her what she had. She told me she had a flush but after I laughed in her face and told her she didn't, she told me KJ. Hope this was an interesting read.
