| Mark Earlier today I found a fantastic online $5-10 game. It was better than a license to print money. The only problem was it lasted about 55 minutes, then all the morons left. I managed to come out $326 winners for 1 hour's work. I got to thinking about one hand I played and wanted to know what you all thought. THE GAME $5-10 hold'em, online THE TABLE Only two types of opponents in this game, Loose-passive and Loose aggressive. The stats on the table were something like 74% of the players seeing the flop, and the average pot was over $100. Lots of passive calling on every street. THE OPPONENT My opponent in this particular hand was the Loosest player at the table. He played EVERY hand not raised before him. Not only would he limp in every hand, he loved to call. I'm talking about calling with 2 under cards to the board on the Turn! I guess he was hoping that the bettor and 3 callers were all bluffing and if he spiked a pair on the river it might be good. To further add to this player's weaknesses, he would also bluff EVERY river when checked to. (He was sooo much fun to play against) The hand On the crazy player above limps and i get a free playin the BB with 53 offsuit. THE FLOP - ( Ah, Kd, Td) I bet. My thought process was to bet as I am usually very aggressive heads up as he may fold. Also, i may be able to set up a steal on the expensive streets. As soon as I bet i knew it was bad. (As above) I knew this guy would call 100% of the time, so a bluff had 0 value He, of course, calls. THE TURN (Ah, Kd, Td, - 9d) So now I check. I'm up against the truest definition of a calling station and there are 4 overcards on the board, multiple str8 possibilities, and a 3 flus, all of which i have no part of. He checks behind me. I know he would have bet a big hand in that spot, but he may check down a 3rd or 4th pair. THE RIVER ( Ah, Kd, Td, 9d - 5s) I check and he bets. Hmm.. Can i call with my bottom pair? I had to assume this player had a random hand that did NOT turn into a monster (because of his failure to bet the turn). Every other river bet he made was a bluff. But the board is very scary and i have slightly better than nothing. I called and won with my bottom pair. He had 6h 2h! I followed my read but was I too hopeful? Mark | ||

| Since he checked behind you on the turn and the river card made your hand and not his, I think you have to call. IF he was first to act, then it is debatable, but he reacted to your turn check by showing weakness which means one of two things...he has absolutely kaka or he has the nuts. Since this player bluffs the river a lot, then I think your pot odds are such that you have to call here. | ||
