| Have some of the Wilson's programs; does anyone own the AceSpade software, and if so, how do they stack up vis-a-vis each other? Thanks in advance! Alan | ||

| I am wondering the same thing....i have read that the only drawback of the wilson is that it doesn't allow pot limit or no limit play...it is strictly structured games....but the tournament edition allows structured plus no limit and pot limit. Hope to here some feedback about the acespade software. Good luck | ||

| http://tinyurl.com/ru16- Go to the top of the thread, get some hot chocolate and snacks, and settle in.... And y es, TTH only does structured. Tournament Holdem has pot and no-limit, but doesn't have advisor or simulation capabilities (Bob Wilson only intended it as a practice tool- various people have been bugging him about adding at least simulation) | ||

| Have studied them both extensively and both have use, although TTH is much more refined. A-S does has a feature that gives you an EV figure, on an ad hoc basis, at ever street. (You need a computer running at least 1 GHz, or it is very slow). To make the EV even remotely accurate, you have to enter all setting (that reflect the vig and jackpot monies) multiplied by 10, and then divide the EV figures by that amount. A-S plays much too tight, in low-limit games to be profitable. The EV is not too accurate, but it really taught to be more aware of when the expectancy was positive, and a rough idea of just how positive it was (my gut instincts were completely wrong). This definitely added to my game, after cutting my teeth on TTH. When challenging Roy (A-S's version of TTH's "Mike" [The guy you play when in the "Challenge mode"]), Roy has an irritating habit of cheating. Totally different players will bet,and play the hand, for Roy than will play for you. Still, Roy is much easier to beat than Mike. Sometimes when I make a nice score I will re-invest some of the $ in some book, or a piece of sw. If I learn even one thing, it will pay for itself many times over. Start with TTH. | ||
