This question has been posted elsewhere: I have my views, and will post them later on.

Here's the situation: NL tourney, blinds are 4-800, antes 100 down to fifteen players, and you're playing eight-handed. Two loose-passive players limp in front of you, leaving you in the cutoff with 7-7.
What is your play? You have 4000 in chips, the lowest stack at either table; average is 22K.

Alan

BTW, this is the question, as presented-I've no further info.

with the short stack, I go all in. If everyone folds, you're making 3600 on a steal, it will never get better than that. And if you get called, you get called, but you're going to have to take a stand very soon and you might not get a better chance to double or triple up. Pocket pairs become fairly valuable at stages like this.

And with 4000, you still just barely have a big enough stack to scare some into folding. Go through the blinds once more and you won't scare anyone.

You don't state what the payoff structure is or your relationship to other low stacks....Both issues are important.

That said, I would tend to move all-in....You are going to need to make a stand soon and you are running out of time. I would rather my opponents folded in this spot, but since they are loose-passive that may not be likely.

Tournament prize money tends to be top-heavy....go for the win!

I think you have to raise all-in here. You are short stacked and if you don't get anything in the next few rounds, doubling up won't mean a thing. Hopefully, one of the two limpers will fold and you will get your heads up coin flip.

i would go allin. your the short stack, 77 is looking like the best hand yer gonna get before being blinded off and i would want to be going up against 2 loose passive limpers in this case. hopefully they fold and you win a nice pot, if they call (lets say one limper is abig stack) then you at least have a shot with that hand, and would double up so you could possibly make it in the money.
