| I have been playing holdem for about six years now. I am interested in holding a home tournament. I am just unsure about the setup. I was hoping to have approx 30 player(3 tables of 10) to start. I want the tourney to last 4 or 5 hrs. I want to play no limit. I am just unsure how much to start everyone with. Also, where should I start the blinds and how often do I move them up? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. | ||

| There was a post on this not to long ago, I believe, and the advice was that you set the starting # of chips at whatever youd like, and can then work backwards to get the blind structure. So if you have 30 people and lets say you want to start each with T1000. At the end, there will be T30000 in play, so blinds of 2000/4000 would probably end it quick. so if you want the tourney to be 5 hours, then for hour 5 the blinds are 2000/4000, then half it in whatever incriments youd like (if you want the blinds to move up every half hour, then from hour 4.5-5 the blind would be 1000/2000, from hour 4-4.5 the blinds would be 500/1000, from hour 3.5-4 the blinds would be 250/500, ect. ect.). You might want to check the archives for the exact response, though. on 16. Oct 2003 16:51 grandma23 wrote: > I have been playing holdem for about six years now.
