| Well he didn't go to work today and he wasn't at his home either! I know it sucks and all, but I still feel sorry for the kid. I mean players throwing beer on him and making death threats?? That's not cool either. 4P- Go Yankees!!!!! | ||

| No, it's not, and everyone is ignoring the fact that at least 4 other people were trying to get that ball too... and while that might have cost one run, the Cubs went on to give up 8 more... -Moz "There's too much caffeine in your bloodstream, and a lack of real spice in your life." | ||

| I saw it too Moz. And I really wanted the Cubs to win the pennant, but it just didn't happen. They would have made for a much more interesting World Series, in my opinion. I just hope the Yankees can pull it off tomorrow! 4P- | ||

| You ain't kidding. I'm pretty frustrated after today's game. I wonder if there will be any fireworks tomorrow with Pedro and Roger pitching... -Moz "There's too much caffeine in your bloodstream, and a lack of real spice in your life." | ||

| Hey, as much as I really wanted the Yankees to win it tonight......a part of me was rooting for game 7 just to see these two guys pitch again. That was one incredible (and tense) game they had. 4P- | ||

| Oh yeah, you're not kidding. The silver lining for me is that I get to watch it. Today's game started at 1:30 here, while I was still at work. I had to listen on the radio. Night game is MUCH better. I will get home just about in time for the first pitch. -Moz "There's too much caffeine in your bloodstream, and a lack of real spice in your life." | ||

| So here's a logic question- if everyone Cub fan considers the guy a moron for doing what he did, and there were roughly 40,000 people in the stadium who likely would have done the same thing, not to mention all the other fans out there, does that make all Cubs fans morons? I like to think so. But the guy should move to Florida, they'll grant asylum. And to add my voice to the other series, I'm rooting for the Yankees despite the fact that I hate them- any team that employs the biggest punk in the league (Pedro) and the biggest scumbag/crybaby (Manny) deserves to lose. At least the Yanks aren't bush league. Eli on 15. Oct 2003 21:10 MozMan wrote: > on 15. | I was very dissapointed to see the Cubs loose last night, but I don't see how anyone can attribute much blame to the poor bastard who knocked the ball out of Alou's glove in game 6. The ball was foul anyway, so it wasn't even a run that the Cubs gave up, just an out. The Marlins only had one out at that time. So even if Alou had made the catch it wouldn't have ended the innings. Those Marlins made some very good plays in the feild last night (game 7) too. Can't say that they didn't deserve their win. The playoffs have been very exciting this year. Snorbolus | ||

| You have to feel bad for the kid....that picture of him with his cubs hat and blue jacket on listening to the game on the radio and just sitting there frozen getting soaked with beer and wiping the beer (or tears) out of his eyes. It was just unfortunate that out of the 10 fans that reached for the ball, he was the unlucky one that it hit. Do you guys all remember when that kid during the Yankees/Baltimore series reached out of the outfield fence and caught a Yankees hit that they called a homerun which would have probably been an out if he didn't interfere. They made that kid a hero....i guess it is all about timing. Go Sox.... | ||

| The mark of true championship is to overcome the the upsets and soldier throught to the win (ie: NOT going on tilt!)- as someone else said in this thread - one potential out was lost by the fan grabbing the ball, not the championship. He had nothing to do with the 8 runs gained by the Marlins the rest of the evening. The Cubs fell apart - a true champion would not have....I was sorry to see the Cubs lose the championship - but the Marlins earned their win, by not falling apart and playing damn good ball! | ||
