| I'm taking a trip up to AC in about a month and a half to celebrate my birthday (yeah, guess which one) and was looking for some casino/hotel tips if anyone has any. I'm looking for a fairly cheap place thats accessable to the major casinos with poker rooms (Borgata, Trop and Taj right?). Its going to be a weekday thing, so should I call ahead and get on a list or is there usually not that much of a wait during weekdays (day/night/both?)? Although I've been playing online for a while now, this will be my first time to a B&M, and while I'm pretty sure I'll be able to figure out what to do, are there any sites with like some basic guidelines so I don't mess something up and make a fool of myself? Thanks in advance. | ||

| Hi Gamble AB, I would call and try to book the room in advance. Even if this is a weekday stay. (sometimes they have teacher's conventions in town, and things like that, and the casino's can become quite busy, and many times they won't have rooms available, or they'll be very jacked-up in price). By calling a little bit in advance will give yourself some time, if need be, to look elsewhere. Out of the three casinos's you mentioned, The Trop will probably be the cheapest. But when you call there, ask for the hotel front desk, and ask them if they have any special room rates for that day. Sometimes the hotel itself will run weekday specials and you can get the room for as low as $39. Not bad! Now, the poker room offers their players a discount as well, but it's usually around $65 mid-week, which is about half the price of the norm. (still a pretty good rate considering). Make sure when you go to these poker rooms that you get yourself a casino rating card 'before' you start to play any poker. Ask any floorman in the poker room, for details. (the poker rooms will issue you points on these cards based on your hourly play, and you'll be able to use those points towards food, and/or hotel rooms). 4P- P.s. "Happy 21st" ! | ||

| Thanks for the info. Are the casinos close enough to each other that if I stay at one (I called around and the Trop has a better deal by far, so odds are I'll be staying there), I can easily get to the others? | ||

The distance between the Trop and the Taj is about a 2 1/2 mile drive, both being on the same street. (Pacific Ave.) But the Borgata is on the Marina side of AC and will take you a bit longer to travel to. (maybe 15- 20 minutes away from the Trop, and about 10 minutes away from the Taj). Taxi's are relatively inexpensive so if you're looking to just go from the Trop to the Taj, you'll be fine. They also have jitney's (small buses) that run all the time 24-7, and they'll be the cheapest way to go if you don't have your car with you. Be safe. 4P-

| i assume those travel times are due to the (#*&$$#* traffic lights and one-way streets, since the casinos are within a few miles of one another. | ||

(LOL)! Yes, it IS due to the #*&$$#* traffic lights! (and of course the low speed limit signs don't help either: ) 4P-

| THere is a Quality Inn / Comfort Inn one one/two block away from TAJ(Very large poker room). It's a nice place to stay. THe room rate would range from $45-69 depends on time. Check with some special discount (AAA, entertainment) and you would get a good deal. ENjoy! | ||
