The purposeful prolonged wait is the only universally reliable online tell I've found.

If the prolonged wait comes before a bet, the bettor almost always figures to have you beaten...unless you have seen this person bluff like this b4, assume strength.

If the prolonged wait comes before a check, the bettor 95% of the time has either a low pair or a drawing hand and wants to see a free card. I always bet when this happens, even if I have nothing. I also make it a point to wait about 2 seconds before placing the bet, to let them know I have acknowledged their ploy and plan on making them pay to see the next card.

If they do attempt this on the turn, and then again on the flop, there is more of a chance they are on low pair or top pair low kicker. If they attempt it on the turn but then move at a regular pace for the river be careful if a card fell that would have completed a drawing hand...

Anyone agree/disagree? How bout any other universal online tells?

I disagree when it comes to a check. In my exerience this usually follows a check raise. The pause occurs after the player recieves a favorable card which causes him to pause in order to contemplate his next move namely checking or betting.

The only one I really look at is when a fast raise comes behind me from a poor player so it appears that he clicked the "raise any" button. My experience is that the raiser is pretty confident that he has a good hand.

I have found one that is the same idea but it is a different button. It usually happens on the turn or the river. That button is the "check/fold". If they had planned on folding to a bet, they will hit that button and when it is theri turn it will take about half a second to move to the next player. If I am in late position and I can tell the players in front of me have clicked that button, it is an automatic bet no matter what I have..If I am called, then I assume they hit the button before they saw the card so it probably helped them and I can play the river accordingly. Of coiurse, they could have clicked the "check/call" button but in most situations it is "check/fold" and I win the hand right there.

Along similar lines is the "call any" button. This can only be detected if an immediate call follows a raise, but *almost* always indicates an A in the hand pre-flop.
