| Playing in a 30/60 game and i was on the dealer button. i peek down and see a pair of 7's. It gets raised to 60 , i call and bb calls along with another person one before the raiser(call him seat x). Out comes QJ7, with two diamonds. seat x bets out, raiser calls, i call, bb folds next card 6clubs. seat x bets, raiser calls, i raise, seat x reraises, raiser folds, i cap it. next card 4 of diamonds. he checks i bet and he reraises, i call. he shows A/5 of diamonds. ARG. Does anyone bet on a come? bad play? | ||

| you play 30/60? hmmm. ok. but to answer yer question, yeah. when its the nut draw i will raise on the come. not always though, usually only when im in a really tight game and know i wont get any extra bets in if i hit my hand. if its a loose game you dont have to worry about pot building for a potential monster hand on 14. | I think his play was bad in that it forced out another player when he still needed to hit his hand to win thus not improving his chance at winning the pot. I don't like that raise. However with more players or in a position when I will get more bets in than compared to my chance of hitting the hand than yes I like raising on the come. It does a good job of disguising your hand and can increase the action you get when you make your hand. | ||

| aside from whether flushdraw made a bad play, what about trons play of this hand? on 14. | IMO big mistake in not raising the flop. You have a set but bottom set with a flush draw there. You have to raise the flop and cause anyone on a draw to make a mistake by calling or fold. I can't see a reason for not raising the flop as you are very vulnerable and you have to get rid of players. If you just call and another diamond comes on the turn, you then may have players with just 1 diamond seeing the river for runner runner. | ||

| Not to mention that a Q-J-x has numerous gutshot draws to broadway, especially for AK, a very possible hand for the early raiser. Any other broadway card that comes off could be very bad for your hand. Even if it doesn't make the straight, it might give someone a straight draw and they could get there. Lee | ||

| also, i dont understand what you were putting him on the turn when he reraised you. top pair, two pair? if he wasnt raising on the come, like he was, then what would he be raising with? he must of had something for that reraise, so i would have slowed down after his reraise on the turn, checked the river and called.i dont think whether someone raises without currently having a hand is as important as how you played the hand here. . | Completely disagree modest I think he would have raised with two pair or perhaps top pair or another set. He didnt raise preflop so I would elimate QQ & JJ, thus he could have qj, q7, j7 or on the come. With a set of 7's he wins 75% of the hands and thus checking the river would be a mistake, once check raised you call. | ||

| i know, but when i see the river card there is also a str and a flush out there and thats why i would check. . but i understand it may very well be the wrong play. on 14. | Any reason why you didn't raise the flop? With bottom set and two cards in the playing zone, I think you need to be aggressive here and make draws pay. | ||
