Anyone playing the NL tourney in the Nat'l Championship of Poker at Hollywood Park this Wednesday? Anyone care to join me for a delicious Pink's hot dog beforehand?

I'm playing Omaha hi-lo on Saturday. How many events will you be doing KJo?

I suppose it depends on how I do in this one, if I finish in the money I'll likely play the one on Sunday. I don't play Omaha, and I'm getting bored with limit, so I'm sure I'll stick to NL.

Of course if I don't finish in the money, it's back to Poker & Ponies for me.

I'm thinking about it. Do you know how many chips you start with for the $100 buy in? I played one of HP's daily tournaments, and they gave you so few chips to start, you just about had to rebuy as soon as you sat down if you wanted any hope of competing. I'd like to play, but I don't want to get sucked into the rebuy just to get started.

It's a single rebuy, so I'm guessing you start with more than the requisite $300 that you get in their Endless Summer tournaments. I played the freeroll yesterday and the start was $500.

Was $500 enough to start with, or did you rebuy? I don't want to buy in for $100 only to find out I've got to throw down another $100 just to have a decent starting stack. What do the blinds start at, and how quickly do they go up? Sorry for all the questions, but I can't get anyone on the phone at HP who has a clue, and you seem to know what's going on, Eli. :-)

The tourney yesterday was a freeroll, so no rebuys. You could start with 500, 1000 or 1500 depending on how well you qualified, I started with the minimum and squeaked into the money. Levels for that one (a limit tournament) started around 15-30 and rose every 1/2 hour, a slow tournament for them.

Their normal Endless Summer NL tournament starts with blinds of 15-30 and they go up rapidly, I'm guessing that the one this Wednesday will be similar. Rebuys are pretty much required for the lower buy in events, I intend to rebuy for this week's.
