I don't know if you play online, but if you do I''ve found it's sometimes fun to continue playing on a table that's breaking up. Many times you will end up in a heads up game. I like to do this sometimes just to loosen myself up a little. If you're playing a low limit you can get in a lot of practice fast without risking much. Of course you must adjust your critera for good hands quite a ways downward. Any Ace or pocket pair increases in value. Any pair on the flop can be worth a bet. You'll figure it out with experience. Semibluffs are more doable than in a low limit full ring game. You may actually get a chance to apply a lot of the advanced strategies you've read about but haven't been able to use playing full games at lower limits. gl

It is true.
I have been playing SNGs lately and love it when we ate down to the last three players. It turns into a bunch of blinds swapping and loooser aggressive play. After a tight game, it is nice to loosen up a little and bluff. Typically by the time you are down to three people, you are "in the money" and you can not loose your investment. Sure you are trying to win first place, but this short handed situation allows you to try some different tactics and see what happens. Semi-Bluffing works, check raising gets scary and it is quick pace. Though I will admit that I have thrown a SNG (catching second) because the game went back and fourth for too long, my attention was waining and I had things to attend to.
Short handed, even low limit is fun and chalanging.
Rarely does a ring game get short handed without collapsing.

Its fun and fast paced, but it doesn't seem like there's that much skill involved when you've got limits. Heads up that is. 3-5 players is different, but heads up online often turns into alot of blinds swapping, random bluffing, and the luck of the flop. Every now and then, you can get a little tricky and check raise, but one missed flop and you've already lost your big bet you won last round by checkraising.
