You know you're at a good table when..., Schuster, 11. Oct 2003 20:23 | ||

| I cruise around the 3/6 tables for a while before finding what looked to be a good one. As luck would have it, I sat down to the direct left of a player who played too many hands, bluffed too much, took his hands too far, but was pretty readable. He was a bit of a maniac after the flop, being very aggressive but when he actually had a hand, he would lay off the gas. The best part is that he's been picking up a lot of pots just by betting at them, so his pockets seem pretty deep. I had been doing my best to isolate this player all night and had gotten the best of him a few times with some very marginal holdings. He limps under the gun and I see AQs. I felt this hand had even more value than it usually would because I thought I would be able to call him down with ace high and take the pot if conditions were right, and he would faithfully call with any pair the whole way to the river. Naturally, I raise and to my delite, everyone folds and it's back to him. Well, he sits there for a minute, and then just mucks the hand! I laughed for quite a while, I tell ya, I've got the fear of god struck into this guy or something. Needless to say, he will be exploited a few more times before the night is over. =) Lee | ||
