Well today I made the decision to go pro. sort of.

I realized long ago that poker is my true calling life. Today I gave my notice to my firm that I will be leaving to pursue my dream. However I think I have provided a pretty good safety net. First off my last day will not be until the end of the year as I have to finish the year for my clients. Second I will have 3 months living expenses by the time this rolls around not including bank roll. Third my firm has a resources division which is basically a collection of former empoylees who are contracted at an hourly rate equal to the equavilent salary. The work can be pretty regular if one desires it to be. I think this will be a great way for me to give it a shot and see how it goes.

The bottom line is regardless I am just not happy with my current job and really do not look forward to going to work everyday. One of the great things about a college education is that it stays with you so the long term risk on my part is minimal.

as others have stated GL and win lots!!!

that being said im gonna just randomly go through things and maybe others will add to list and maybe something will pop up you didnt think of *hopefully not but better now than later*

assuming 10/20 at least thats 6k for bankroll
3 months is not a very large resevoir 6 would be much better, however this can be alleviated by your possible income from company and you are following a dream *if a dream could be fully calcuable and no risk wouldnt be much of a dream would it?*

go over your expenses with a fine tooth comb, and go over them and over them and over them, a big killer of pros is taking money out of the bankroll that shouldnt be taken out and then getting to a point where your bankroll cant sustain the level at which you need to play stress free and make a living

reduce your outside expenses as much as you can, no CC debt, no school loans nothing but food clothing and shelter, the reasoning is put as little pressure on your bankroll as possible, let it grow as fast as it can *which means taking out as little as possible for living*, this doesnt mean struggling artist living in a box it just means help your bankroll as much as you can.

depending on how horrible you find your old job maybe do enough side work for old job to pay your living expenses?

structure some of your time, people seem to do much better if they have a reason to be somewhere doing something at a particular time.

i currently work 5 hours a day 5 days a week and its perfect for me, gives me enough free time to do things i want to do, but makes me get to bed and out of bed.

again these are just things to think about on the off chance you havent, hopefully you have and are far ahead of the game.

GL again
