| Just curious what the odds are or making a runner runner flush after you have three to a flush on the flop. | ||

| I believe you have a 4.2% chance of hitting a backdoor flush (about a 24:1 shot). (10/47) * (9/46) = .042 | ||

| which is why im always stunned when i lose to a runner runner, but its a good thing. do people realize what an underdog they are? i hope not, caus they'll miss it so often and pay off a ton by callin all the way to the river...thank god most cardrooms arent filled with well read poker people on 10. | Clearly, you'll never have the correct pot odds to call because of a backdoor flush draw. I think of backdoor draws as a "2nd option" that might make an otherwise marginal call OK. For example, let's say you've got two suited overcards on a rag flop w/ one of your suit and someone bets. That might justify a call. Or if you have a gutshot straight draw, and ALMOST the right odds to call--a backdoor flush draw would make a call OK, IMO. When you're "backdoored," it's probably because a bad player got lucky, but it might be because a good player hit his 2nd option. Just a thought. | ||

| If I was ever "backdoored" I would feel very unlucky. | ||

| If you have a three-flush it is just over 4%...If your opponent(s) have a three-flush it is a 8-1 favorite to come in :-)! Life is good :-) Roy Cooke on 10.
