| I am one off the button w/ 88. There is 2 limpers, in front of me, I call and the bb checks. Flop comes off 8,6,A two spades. First limper bets out, call I raise my set hoping to drive out a potential flush draw or str8 draw, call, call, call. Turn comes a Qs. Checked to me, I bet out and BB raises. I put him on a flush and call hoping to pair the board. River comes A. Bet, raise, reraise call and the BB flips over A-Q for aces full to beat my 8s full. I didn't see the a-q coming, particularly w/ no raises. What could I have done better here? | ||

| I think you played the hand just fine. To answer the question you asked, "Should I have seen this coming?" I would say no. I believe that you lost the minimum and these things happen. You got the vast majority of your money in with the best of it - and that's not a bad recurring situation to find yourself in. | ||
