| A lot of people around here have suggested not using S&M Hold 'em for Advanced Players in low limit games, but what about their section for playing in loose games? | ||

| The answer seems obvious but here's the deal. Your not moses and the poker god is not going to provide with the Ten Poker Commandments. No book, or UPFer is going to provide you with the all the necessary information. If you want to be an OK player than read some book and play that way. If you want to be a good player than after reading stop and think about how you can apply this information to your game. This is exact same principal of taking an idea from one area and apply its concepts to something which seems completely unrelated. Advanced Hold-em cannnot be strictly applied to ANY hold-em game. However given the proper thought & reflection there are many concepts that can be used or modified to apply to all hold-em games, LL included | ||

| Read that third paragraph again. This is one of the best posts I've seen in a long time. It says so much with so few words. The most important thing is how you apply what you learn. HAving said that, I would say the basic Sklansky book is much more appropriate for LL or loose games. I find when I get too caught up in strategy and fancy play, re-reading that one and the Jones book help to put me back on track for the loose 3/6 and 4/8 games at my B&M. -Moz "The more you ignore me, the closer I get. | I think this book was great and it helped me out a lot with my poker skills. I would definitely read it and use some of the concepts even in low limit. Realize though that many of them will not work in low limit. It is better just to play straight forward, as you won't be able to trick many players as they don't care or don't understand. | ||
