| I've just started reading Poker at the Millenium by Mike Caro and Mike Cappelletti, and I'm trying to understand Cappelletti's point count system for Omaha high. He divides each four-card hand into its six two-card holdings, and applies a point count for various aspects of the holding, such as flush and straight capabilities. The few examples given are not very clear, and I'm not certain how to apply what he calls "bonus points" for a third proximate card and for a fourth proximate card. By 'proximate card' I assume he means a card which is adjacent in rank to either card in the two-card holding under consideration. He gives as an example the hand Q-J-T-9 offsuit as having a point count of nineteen and a half, but I can't see how he gets this. Can anyone tell me this? Thanks in advance, Tony | ||
