First, I want to again thank you all who helped me with my losing wknd. Your suggestions to play Limit rather than NL was definitely the answer. It fits my personality perfectly and is actually what I was playing when I first began. I am a very structured person who loves and concentrates on the little details, so Limit games come much more naturally. It's awesome how much skill is involved in Limit games and can't wait for the higher limits.

Of course, I started at $1/2 tables playing for minimum wage (I ACTUALLY MADE A SIGN THAT SITS NEXT TO MY COMPUTER READING, "WILL PLAY POKER FOR FOOD..." LOL. I am ahead and plan to stay that way (fingers crossed).

Second, I have made a chart of every hand played since Monday (4 hrs Mon, 3 1/2 hrs Tonight) and plan to continue tracking every session for at least four weeks. I've broken it down by hour: Total hands dealt; hands I played; and hands I've won w/ the total $ won/hr. And ,obviously, from the position played and result of the hand.

Am I missing something important? Do I have info that's not needed? It's incredibly helpful to have this information and it's made me much better just in this short amount of time. Any suggestions? Am I on the right track? Thank you again!!!

I'm glad the advice to take up limit games was helpful. It's a much more logical, methodical game...less of the super-bold bluffs and big bankroll-churning moves you'll find in NL.

As far as your tracking, I think you're right to keep records, but I'd encourage you not to become stat-obsessed. End each session by asking yourself, did I play well? If the answer is yes, be happy--whether you finished up or down (and you will have sessions where you played well, but lost anyway).

My best tip is to print out any hands you have questions about. Then look back over you play and try to find your mistakes. If you're still unsure, post the hand here...and players a lot better than I will offer their thoughts.

Good luck.
