| I've played a couple of the 10 handed sitNgo and in each one there was one guy that would raise/reraise any chance he got regardless what is hand was. In both of these the guy busted out in 10th and 9th place. I was wondering if anyone knew why one would do this? Thanks! | ||

| Maybe he just likes to gamble! Maybe he's trying to build chips up early and then adjust his play accordingly, afterwards. OR....Maybe he thinks his starting hands are *worth* the raise, and re-raise. Could be.....right? 4P- | ||

| of course any of those reasons could be the answer. I thought maybe there was some strategy to it that might not be apparent to me. I was just curious because I noticed the strategy from 2 different guys in separate games. I think maybe preflop someone might think there raise/reraise was warranted, but some of the raises after the river card looked pretty poor. Almost as if they just wanted to get out of the game. Which of course could be yet another reason. | ||

| Hi, If these players were looking to build their chips, then possibly, doing it in a tourney or a 'sng' with questionable types of holdings, could leave them in a good spot due to the short term luck factor. (I'm not saying it's correct or incorrect....I'm just trying to put myself in their thought process). Some players just like to play fast and "hope" that they can build up a nice stack, (table bullies), where others may be making these plays/calls because they're actually somewhat clueless. I guess to actually know why they are playing this way, is hard to figure out unless you knew all the reasons behind it. Maybe they think that raising all the time will increase their chances of their 'own' hands holding up. (I don't know). Perhaps they were trying to "see" if by playing in this fashion, that it could turn into better results for them then it has in the past when they were playing tight. Maybe they just think that raising and re-raising is how poker should be played! Maybe they just have a s***load of cash and they just wanna have fun! Could be, but I'm not sure. (just some thoughts rollin' around!) Or maybe they just don't care all together...which is really good for you! (but short term luck can go in their favor, too). There just can be sooo many reasons why players play the way they do....because there ARE so many reasons! That's the great part about poker. However, If this was not a tourney/sng and it was a regular cash game, then if they continued to play overly aggresive with bad holdings, and made bad calls on the river.....they would be long term losers in Omaha hi-lo. (and any form of poker!) But like I said earlier, they may actually think that they're playing this game correctly.....and in tourney style, it may help them. It depends who they're playing against too, right? I would adjust my play accordingly when there were maniacal types at my table, but sometimes, when you're in an event where you may not have enough time to punish them......your own results may not be what you anticipated. 4P- | ||
